Abstract
It has been over 50 years since the definition of contemporary literature came into being in the late1950s.During this long period of time,various insights into the definition were put forward.In particular,quite a few scholars began to question it in the mid 1980s.The essay makes a funther study of it so as to help develop and improve the study of the subject.
