Relationship between Low Back Pain and Lumbar Lordosis and Sacral Inclination in Adult People

Objective To investigate the variable relationship between lumbar lordosis and sacral inclination in the patients with low back pain.Methods Eighty-six patients with low back pain and 90 asymptomatic people were studied by measuring total lordosis,segmental lordoses and sacral inclination on the standing lateral radiographs.Results Total lordosis and sacral inclination in the patient group are significantly less than in the control group(P0.05).The loss of total lordosis mainly comes from L4～L5 and L5～S1 segmental lordoses lessening.Total lordosis is positively correlated with sacral inclination in the both groups.Conclusion The loss of lumbar lordosis and sacral inclination may be one of anatomy foundation inducing low back pain.
