Abstract

To investigate the effects of compound Yinzhiku on hepatic fibrosis in rats. The expression of mRNA and proteins of TGF-β1, MMP-13 and TIMP-1 were detected by RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry after liver fibrosis. The levels of mRNA and protein of TGF-β1 and TIMP-1 in liver were significantly reduced in effective dosage, but the levels of mRNA and protein of MMP- 13 in liver significantly increased in effective dosage. The results showed that compound Yinzhiku has significantly inhibit the development of liver fibrosis in rats induced by CCl4.
