Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To probe into the causes for the low content of the alkaloid in Sophora flavescens excavated in spring.METHODS: The Sophora flavescens in a same area was extravagated in spring and autumn,respectively,and the content of alkaloid was determined.RESULTS CONCLUSION: A significant negative correlation between the change of alkaloid and heterotrophic growth of Sophora flavescent was noted;therefore,it's advisable to excavate the Sophora flavescent in autumn or early spring before germinating so as to prevent the content alkaloid from being affected.
