Abstract

Treatment of micro-polluted raw water using powded activated carbon (PAC) combined with membrane bioreactor(MBR) was testd. The removal characteristics of pollutants and change of membrane permeability in the combined process were investigated. The removal rates of turbidity and NH+4-N were over 80%, and OC and UV254 43movals were about 46~57% and 31~42%,respectively. PAC dosage had little influence on pollutant removals in the range of 500mg/L to 30000mg/L. Organic matters with molecular weight less than 1000 could be almost fully removed in PAC-MBR process. PAC dosage had no significant influence on the membrane permeability.
