Comparison on the effect of early enteral nutrition and parenteral nutrition applied on patient undergoing gastric tumor operation

【Objective】To evaluate the early application of enteral nutrition support in patients undergoing gastric tumor operation.【Methods】76 cases of gastric after operation were divided into two groups,enteral nutrition group and parenteral nutrition group.They were supported for 7 days on enteral/ parenteral nutrition after operation.Abdomen distention,diarrhea,nausea,vomiting and defecation were observed.Albumin、hemoglobin、prealbumin、AST、ALT and creatinine were measured.【Results】Average time of exhausting by anus of PN group was 5.8±1.4 days and EN group was 4.1±0.8(P 0.05).Average time of defecation for PN group was 4.6±1.5 days and EN group was 3.2±0.7(P 0.05).4 days after operation,albumin,hemoglobin,prealbumin level of two group were obviously decreased than 1 day before operation,there was no significant difference between two groups(P 0.05).From 4~8 days after operation,albumin,hemoglobin,prealbumin of EN group had a great range of increase than PN group(P 0.05).8 days after operation,ALT and creatinine level of two group had no significant difference,but AST was significant.【Conclusion】Early application of enteral nutrition in patients undergoing gastric tumor operation can maintain nutritional state,promote gastric functional recovery.It is better than parenteral nutrition..
