Application of the analytic hierarchy process in selection of suppliers

Abstract

Selection of suppliers in a scientific way matters efficiency of the entire supply chain and competitiveness of the enterprise.The analytic hierarchy process(AHP) can be used as a tool to appraise the following four indicators,such as production cost,product quality,date of delivery and after-sale service.A selection model for suppliers was established based on the examples from practice.The best selection scheme for suppliers was decided on the quantitative indicator and calculation of the suppliers.The study on this subject can provide a reference tool for managers.It also helps the enterprise improve its efficiency in selection of suppliers.
