On Foreignization and Domestication in Translation Strategies Based on Functional Theory

For a long time,foreignization and domestication have been disputably viewed as two translation strategies.Some adhere to foreignization in translation,and others,to domestication.Still,some think that foreignization plays a major role in translation,while domestication only serves as a necessary means.On the basis of functional theory and cultural differences,the two strategies are analyzed in translation practice.Most importantly,they can be well-balanced in translation practice.
