Exploration on the usage of Xiyanping in infantile respiratory infection

Objective:To explore the therapeutic effect of Xiyanping injection for infantile acute respiratory infection. Methods:101 children with acute respiratory infection were divided into two groups randomly,and all of them were treated with antibiotics and fluid supplement by intravenous drip.On the basis of routine treatment,40 children in control group were treated with ribavirin injection;while 61 children in treatment group were treated with ribavirin injection plus Xiyanping injection.The changes of the symptoms including runny nose,sneezing,coughing,breathing and fever in the two groups were observed. Results:The total effective rates in treatment group and control group were 87.6% and 62.0%,respectively,there was significant difference between the two groups(χ2=15.38,P0.01).The temperature of children in treatment group returned to normal,and there was significant difference in disappearance times of symptoms and signs including coughing,runny nose,sneezing,breathing and pulmonary rales between the two groups(P0.01).The total effective rate and remission situation of respiratory symptoms in treatment group were superior to those in control group. Conclusion:Xiyanping injection is effective in treatment of infantile acute respiratory infection,which can shorten the course obviously,improve clinical efficacy,and no obvious adverse reaction is found in the course,so Xiyanping injection is worthy to be popularized.
