A study on the uncertainty and its applications

through analyzing the difference between the error and the uncertainty,the basic definition of uncertainty was introduced in this paper.And the probable factors which contribute to the uncertainty with steps of assessing and measuring uncertainty was also demonstrated belon.By assessing the uncertainty of using spectrophotomecry method to measure the content of Cr6+.The result medicates that the uncertainty was mostly caused by the normal working curve,with the nepitition measurement as the second main source leading to the uncertainty,both of which were about one order of maguitude larger than all the other factors causing the uncertainty,which made the two the main sources of the uncertainty.
