Abstract
Trace amount of Zn(Ⅱ) was separated and enriched from the sample solution buffered at pH 7.0 with phosphate buffer in the form of a coordination complex with PAN by cloud point extraction using OP-8 as non-ionic surfactant. An aliquot of the surfactant phase was taken and dissolved in HCl solution and its zinc content was determinaed by FAAS.Factors influential to cloud point extraction, and interferences of co-existing ions were studied and optimized.Detection limit(3σ) of the method was found to be 2.4 μg·L-1.The proposed method was applied to the determination of zinc in water samples, and values of recovery obtained by standard addition method were in the range of 95.0%-103.6%.
