On the Situation and Development Strategy of the Higher Vocational Education

Education is closely linked to the economy and peoples' living.Nowadays the economic globalization is developing around the world.The 17th CPC National Congress points out that we should make our best to develop the vocational education and execute the development strategy of expanding employment.The higher vocational education of our country is facing a chance of the vigorous market and a challenge of both the urgent re-adjustment of industrial structure and the great demand for technical talents.The article suggests that the higher vocational education must adapt itself actively to the market economy and cultivate the applied technologists in order to optimize the structure of talents and push the country's economic development and social progress continuously.It is proposed that the higher vocational education should meet the needs of the market and society,build up the scientific concept of development,construct the concept of industries and market of higher vocational education,establish the quality evaluation criteria and the vocational quality certificate institution in line with oversea education,and put the higher vocational education onto the right course of a lifelong education system.
