Abstract

Objective To explore the diagnostic value of susceptibility weighted imaging(SWI) for cerebral venous malformation(CVM). Methods Nine patients with CVM were collected, and all of them underwent T1WI,T2WI and SWI scans. The imagings obtained with SWI and conventional MRI sequences were compared. Results Susceptibility weighted imaging showed clearly low signal pulp veins and draining veins. The typicalcaput medusaeappeared in pulp veins of 6 patients with CVM by SWI,but only found in two cases by conventional MRI. Conclusion SWI is a better way to detect CVM.
