Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the clinical value of interventional embolization for the treatment of lingual-facial hemangioma. Methods: By superselective catheterization under DSA, embolization with Gelfoam and PYM was performed in 29 cases. Results: Nine cases underwent surgery after embolization, there was no recurrence of lesions in follow-up period of 1 to 3.5 years. The lesions reduced 30% to 90% in 20 cases. At follow-up of 0.5 to 3 years, the lesions had no change in 15 cases, became bigger in 5 cases. No serious complications were encountered in all patients. Conclusion: Interventional embolization is a safe and effective therapy for lingual-facial hemangioma, and should be taken as the first choice of treatment.
