Abstract

Objective To find out the clinical, laboratory and epidemic features of adult measles and provide theoretic evidence for measles control. Methods Data of 63 hospitalized adult measles cases was analyzed retrospectively. Results Average age was 26.67±7.09 years old and the prodromal period was 4.19±2.19 days. All patients had a temperature, most of them had high fever between 39.1℃ to 40.0℃.All patients had rashes and Koplic's spots was noted in 71.4% patients.Bronchitis and peribronchitis were found in 31.7% patients, raised ALT and AST were found in 41.1% and 46.4% patients respectively,75.0% patients was detected with raised LDH-L,48.2% cases with raised HBDH and 28.6% cases with raised CK level were also detected. Conclusions Incidence of adult measles has a adscendent tendency in recent years.Measles patients in adult usually have sever clinical manifestation and complications are common.Application of Mva immunization to adults in high risk is a subject that is worth to concern and discuss.
