Clinical application of capsular tension ring during phacoemulsification in subluxated cataractous lens

Objective To evaluate the clinical application efficiency of capsular tension ring during phacoemulsification of subluxated cataractous lens.Methods Capsular tension ring was implanted in 12 cases(12 eyes) of subluxated lens after continuous curvilinear capsulorrhexis during phacoemulsification.The luxated area was ranged from one four to half-quarter of a circle.After the capsular tension ring was implanted,phacoemulsification was performed and foldable intraocular lens(IOL) was implanted.Results Twelve eyes were smoothly implanted capsular tension ring and foldable intraocular lens.After the operations,all cases had improved visual acuity,right position of IOL.2 eyes had the appearance of corneal edema;2 eyes had transient elevation of intraocular pressure.No other operation complication happened.Conclusion Capsular tension ring implantation can improve the safety of phacoemulsification.It can prevent the deviation of IOL and reduce the operation complication.
