Abstract
The delimitation and correlation of Permian group in Junggar basin are analyzed in terms of the outcrops, drilling and geophysical data. Combining with the geological analyses of the tectonic setting and basin-filling, the Permian sequences of the basin are divided and compared. The Junggar basin in the Late Carboniferous and Permian underwent foreland basin developing processes with three foreland basin systems, including the West Foreland Basin, the Kelameili Forland Basin and the Northern Tianshan. They are different in the distribution range, developed level and developing time. All of the structures in the basin are resulted from the piling-up and compounding of the three systems.
