Abstract
The circadian rhythm of heart rate variability(HRV) was assessed in 29normal subjects(group Ⅰ ), 27 patients with cardiovascular diseases, whose cardiac function was fully compensated (group Ⅱ), and 27 patients with congestive heart failure (group Ⅲ) by using time domain analysis. The 24-h plot of HRV showed that the physiological ciacadian rhythm was preserved in group Ⅱ, In contrast, there wasless diurnal variation in HRV for group Ⅲ. Our results suggest that the circadian rhythm of HRV is correlated with the seventy of cardiac insufficiency.
