Abstract
Objective: To investigate the protective effect of Xinding Injection on kidney in diabetic rats. Methods: Diabetic rats were induced by intraperitoneal Streptozotocin injection(60mg/kg) at one dose and measured the blood fasting sugar after 72 hours .Consistency of blood fasting sugar in the diabetic model rats was onto 16.7mmol/L. The rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: the normal control group (NC), the diabetic model group (DM) and the Xinding -treated diabetic group (XD). At the end of 12weeks, glucose, triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol(TC), urea nitrogen, creatinine level of plasma and 24 urinary albumin excretion were detected. The relevant indexes in tissue fluid of kidney and the kidney hypertrophy index were measured. Results: 1. The 24-hour urinary protein, BUN, Scr and the kidney hypertrophy index were higher in Group DM than that in Group NC. The activity of GSH-Px, SOD, NO and NOS in tissue fluid of kidney were lower in Group DM than that in Group NC (P0.01).The corresponding pathological changes of renal tissue could be obviously observed under light microscopy and electron microscopy in Group DM. 2. Xinding Injection could reduce 24 hours urine protein, kidney hypertrophy index and significantly increase the activity of of GSH -Px, SOD, NO and NOS in tissue fluid of kidney, compared with the DM group (P0.05). The pathological changes in Group XD were less obvious than those in Group DM. Conclusion: Xinding injection can perfect the relevant indexes in tissue fluid of diabetic rats kidney. Xinding injection has some protective effect on kidney of diabetic rat.
