Abstract
Benevolence is the most important philosophy,ethical norm and moral standard in Chinese traditional culture. As one kind of value system and belief system,benevolence has been deeply rooted in people' s thinking and behavior. This paper,by analyzing the limitations of several theoretical problems of benevolence such as accumulatemerits familiness differentiation,aims to inhibit the negative effects of benevolence in the process of modernization and let its ultimate concern of human values play a great and profound positive role in modern society.
