Abstract
During the months of April to November 1956, a preliminary survey of the common speciesand seasonal prevalence of flies was made in Paoting area by trapping, using rotten fish as a bait.The data showed: 1. The species found in this area are Musca vicina, Muscina stabulans, Fannia canicularis,Sarcophaga sp., Chrysomia megacephala, Lucilia sericata Calliphora erythrocephala and Ophyrasp. Among these Lucilia sericata, Muscina stabulans and Chrysomia megacephala are the speciesmost abundant. 2. The number of flies reaches its peak in June, July (mainly including Lucilia, Muscinaand Sarcophaga) and in September (mainly Chrysomia and Musca) disappearing at the end ofNovember. 3. The seasonal prevalence of different species of flies were shown in figures.
