Abstract
?A method of choosing a wavelet for the detection of singularities of a fault signal is presented. The method is to choose a wavelet by the regularities of the wavelet and the signal. The method is based on the fact that the coefficient of the wavelet transform signifies the resemblance between the wavelet and the signal, at the same time, the regularity of the signal is relative to the wavelet coefficient. A simulation is presented to illustrate the validity and feasibility of the method.
