Tourism Translation from the Functionalist Perspective

Tourism translation plays a significant role in the publicity-oriented C/E translation.With the text of the brief introduction to the Li Bai Memorial as its case study,the paper analyzes the source text from its translation skopos,its function,its text type and genre convention,further reflects the think-aloud process of the translation strategy,and finally concludes that the tourism translation should be target reader-oriented,with translation variation as its translation strategy,and that the evaluation of tourism translation should be its adequacy for the target communicative purpose instead of its static equivalency.
