Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression and significance of apoptosis inhibitor protein Survivin and proliferating cell nuclear antigen Ki67 in tissue of breast carcinoma and its clinicopathological significance. Methods The expression of Survivin and Ki67 in 10 cases of normal breast tissues(normal group),20 cases of proliferative breast disease(proliferation group)and 82 cases of breast carcinoma tissues(carcinoma group) were detected by immunohistochemical method.Correlation of the two indexes was analyzed, and the relationship between Survivin expression and clinicopathological parameters and prognosis in breast cancer was observed. Results OD value of Survivin and Ki67 LI in carcinoma group and proliferative group was significantly higher(all P0.01) than that in normal group;Compared with proliferative group,Survivin OD value and Ki67 LI in carcinoma group was significantly higher(all P0.01).Spearman correlation analysis showed that the expression of Survivin and Ki67 was positively correlated(r=6.821,P0.05).Survivin expression was related to clinical stage and lymph node metastasis. The 5-year survival rate was significantly higher(all P0.05) in Survivin negative patients than that in positive patients. Conclusions Expression of Survivin and Ki67 in tissue of breast carcinoma increases;the high expression of Survivin and Ki67 may play an important role in the oncogenesis and development of breast carcinoma and can be used as prognostic predictor of this tumor.
