On Supplementary Annotations to Su Shi's Poems from the Perspective of Exegetics in the Early Qing Dynasty

In his Supplementary Annotations to Su Shi's Poems,Cha Shenxing upheld the textual research style emphasized in the early Qing Dynasty.Cha focused on the textual research for the Jin Dian(Things of the Day) in Su Shi's poems.Also,he explained in detail the geographical terms,official terms,object signifiers and other historical terms,and the terms for historical geography in particular.Based on his research,Cha Shenxing also made an effective interpretation of the meaning of sentences and discourses in Su Shi's poems by applying the approach of Interpreting Poetry by History.Therefore,Supplementary Annotations to Su Shi's Poems is a strong complement to the similar works to Su Shi's poems in the Song Dynasty,and also a typical work among the annotations to the poems in the Qing Dynasty.
