On the Poem Annotation of Su Shi's Poems Written by Zhao Cigong

In the poem annotation of Song Dynasty,the scholiasts attach importance to both historical method and poetics method.But in his annotation of Su Shi's poems,Zhao Cigong laid the emphasis on the poetics method.Zhao Cigong used to analyze Su Shi's rhetorical technique and poems' structure,so that he could explain the meaning of Su Shi's poems.Furthermore,Zhao Cigong summarized Su Shi's composing technique.Zhao Cigong's historical method also depended on analyzing poet's composing mentality instead of textual research on historical events.Zhao Cigong's poem annotation of Su Shi's poems was the representative literature which included poem criticism.
