Abstract
Objective To explore the effective of bacterium tuberculosis initial drug resistance on treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods 109 new patients of pulmonary tuberculosis with drug sensibilities test and complete data in out-patient department in 2 years from January 2002 to December 2004,were divided into 2 groups: drug sensitive group(62 cases) and drug resistance group(47 cases). Two groups were compared. Results After 2 months intensive treatment, the sputum conversion rates at drug sensitive group and drug resistance group were 71.0%、51.1% respectively(P0.05);after 9 months treatment course, the rates were 93.5%、74.5% respectively(P0.01) after 9 months treatment course, the sputum conversion rate at one drug resistance was 88.5%,the rate at more than two drugs resistance but no MDR-TB was 61.5%,and the rate at MDR-TB was 50.0%.The rates were significant difference(P0.01).After 9 months treatment course, the chest X-ray improving rates of drug sensitive group and drug resistance group were 90.3%、72.3%(P0.05);the cavity closure rates were 89.7%、71.0%(P0.05).The treatment success rates at drug sensitive group and drug resistance group were 91.9%、70.2%(P0.01),and the relapse rates were 1.8%、15.1%(P0.05).Conclusion The initial drug resistance was the mainly reason of the treatment failure.
