Abstract

Objective:To study the acute toxicity of Lailikang in mice.Methods: The median lethal dose(LD_(50)) of Lailikang in mice was measured after the mice were given Lailikang orally in five dosages only once and observed 7 days.If the toxicity of Lailikang was so little and the LD_(50) could not be determined,the maximum-tolerated dose(MTD) of Lailikang under maximal allowable concentration and volume would be measured.Results: No mouse died during the experimental period,and the LD_(50) was not determined.The MTD was 180.63 g/kg/d by intragastric infuse.Conclusions: The MTD of Lailikang is 180.63 g/kg/d,and this dose is 225 times of adult individual.The results suggest that Lailikang is safe by oral administration.
