Throughout the history,modem poetry has its own value.Modem poetry has triple identity in research.Historical material for case study,literature and cultural phenomenon.And the study of modem poetry experiences three stages that is embryo,selfawareness and development.The researchers of the study could be full-time researchers working on modem poetry,participants involved in poetry publications and organizations,as well as nascent amateurs.The results are remarkable,including a great many scholarly works like Liu Shilin' s Chinese Scholar' s Study of Poetry in the 20th Century.Nevertheless,there are deficiencies like text misreading.In short,for further progress,both historical material and knowledge structure of the researchers need improvements.
