Abstract
Arrow bamboo (Fargesia) ecology has been concerned widely due to its special biological feature, effects on subalpine forest ecosystem function and the significance as staple food for giant panda in conservation biology. As yet, the researches have paid more attentions on the aboveground plant ecology, there is lack of information on the effects of soil ecological conditions such as soil physical and chemical features on the growth, succession and flowering of arrow bamboo, which is difficult to make needs of the researches on the ecological processes of arrow bamboo community. Therefore, interactions between nutrient pool and its availability in soil and the growth and succession of bamboos, tests on the hypothesis about bamboo flower controlled by plant nutrients, and soil ecological process in arrow bamboo community should be emphasized in arrow bamboo ecology in the future.
