On the Folk Choreography of the Miao Nationality

The Miao nationality is one of the largest minority groups in China.It has been living and flourishing for about one thousand years in the Southeast China.The Miao culture has been enriched tremendously as time goes by,and its art represents the people's value and connotation.Especially the dances are colorful with various forms,which show their respect to the nature and life.Normally,the Miao dance involves various instruments.Its complicated movements are combined with the rhythm,and it is known as orient or Chinese Disco.This paper focuses on reorganizing the traditional Miao dance and transforms the dances from ritual gathering into stage performance.The writer tries to set up a dance method that can be widely used by educational base.
