Abstract
Moral education has been attached great importance in Japanese Modernization due to the tradition of emphasizing moral education on the one hand and the features of Japanese modernization as a state-led modernization from without on the other hand.Nationalism which has the background of collectivism and careerism which emphasizes industry are the two main threads in the aims and ideas of moral education in the process of Japanese modernization.Moral education in Japan has provided Japanese modernization with order maintenance and dynamic support through developing Japanese modernization characteristics of the complex of collectivism and careerism on the one hand and brought some serious problems to Japanese modernization and social development on the other hand.
