Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical therapeutic effect of acupuncture on post-stroke depression.Methods Sixty patients were randomly allocated to an acupuncture plus medicine(Prozac) group and a medication(oral administration of Prozac only) group.The HAMD scale score was counted in the two groups of patients before and after one course of treatment.Results Both groups obtain a certain therapeutic effect.The total efficacy rate was 93.3% in the acupuncture plus medicine group and 83.3% in the medication group;there was a statistically significant difference(P0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture has a marked therapeutic effect on post-stroke depression.
