Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical therapeutic effect of acupuncture at limb points on depression.Methods Sixty patients with primary depression were randomly allocated to treatment and control groups,30 cases each.The treatment group received acupuncture at limb points and the control group,medication.The clinical therapeutic effects were compared between the two groups.Results The total efficacy rate was 83.3% in the treatment group and 86.7% in the control group;there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture at limb points is an effective way to treat depression.Its therapeutic effect is comparable with that of medication.
