Abstract
The concepts ofpublic moralityandprivate moralityspring from reflections and criticisms on Chinese traditional culture in the modern times.Facing the new tendency of scientific revolution and market economy,the Confucian ethical culture,with the core of private morality,needs urgently to be transformed and developed.Nowadays,the construction of citizens’morality should be focused on overall education of public morality including school education.Broaden positively and efficiently the scope of people’s public life,which is closely associated with daily life.
