Abstract
Based on ANSY Workbench plate, finite element analysis of a tower crane jib is made. By static and linear buckling analysis, the tower crane jib in the proximal overloading and distal of ultimate loading condition of light load are analyzed, esp. for the deformation and stress of the jib under different working conditions and status of the stability of the crane jib. The results show that section jib crane arm and abdominal strength between the main chords are redundant. Abdominal wall thickness of the rod can be adjusted properly so that the material can be used fully. Compression of the main chord can be chosen by large diameter pipes replaced or welded Beam I. Good rigidity and stability of the crane will provide reference for tower crane design and engineering construction, and provide theory for machine design and construction, structural optimization.
