Research progress of the proton pump inhibitors

Objective The progress of clinical research and pharmacology of proton pump inhibitors commonly used in clinics was reviewed.Methods By referencing literatures,pharmacokinetics,pharmacologic action and clinical applications were compared for the proton pump inhibitors,including omeprazole,lansoprazole,rabeprazole,and so on,which are commonly used in clinics.Results Proton pump inhibitors are different in pharmacokinetics,pharmacologic action and clinical applications.Conclusion The drugs should be chosen according to their respective characteristics.
