Abstract
The human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVEC) were cultured in five groups:NG(Glu 5.5 mmol/L,normal control),HG20(Glu 20 mmol/L),HG40(Glu 40 mmol/L),HG20-Cap(Glu 20 mmol/L,Cap10-5 mol/L) and HG40-Cap(Glu 40 mmol/L,Cap10-5 mol/L).Apoptosis of the cells and the expressions of Fas,Bcl-2 were determined and evaluated by flow cytometry.Exposure to HG resulted in an increase in apoptosis in both HG20 and HG40 groups(P0.01).HG enhanced the expression of Fas and decreased Bcl-2 expression.Captopril reduced high-glucose-induced HUVEC apoptosis accompanied by a decrease of Fas expression and an increase of Bcl-2 expression.
