Abstract
As aircraft in manufacture and service increases, the numbers of aircraft are used widely in drawings, report and airworthiness documents. When an aircraft comes into service, its continued airworthiness depends on the maintenance tasks in the aircraft maintenance manual. So it is crucial to find and carry out the exact tasks suitable for this aircraft. This paper lists the usual numbers of aircraft and their function, as well as how these numbers are used to identify the effectivity of aircraft maintenance manual. Also,by analyzing aircraft numbers, this paper analyzes the principles of how to use these numbers in Aircraft Maintenance Manual, and proposals on identifying effectivity of Aircraft Maintenance Manual are raised.
