Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of central intrathoracic venous catheter for draining pleural effusion. Methods 257 patients with pleural effusion were divided into two groups:the study groupⅠ,207 patients were applied with central intrathoracic venous catheter;the control groupⅡ50 patients, which with thoracentesis, the therapeutic effect and adverse reactions were observed. Results Primary endpoint were significantly different(P0.05) between two groups. Conclusion Central intrathoracic venous catheter for draining pleural effusion can reduce the puncture times and side-effect,as well as increase curative effect.
