Abstract
Field investigation was conducted on bird resources in Heihe Wetland of Gansu province during the years 2010~2011,there were 174 species of birds,which belonged to 17 orders,36 families in record.There were 40 birds as rank Ⅰ or rank Ⅱ species in the name list of National Protected Wildlife.Type of geographical distribution and ecotype of birds were studied,among the 174 birds,66 were residents,13 were wintering birds,73 species were breeders,and 22 species were travelers.There were 119 palaearctic species,4 oriental species and 51 cosmopolitan species.Bird fauna composition showed obvious characteristics of palaearctic realm.Suggestions of protection and management of bird resources were put forward in this paper.
