Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To study the effect of PSN polysaccharides nucleic acid on immunologic function in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).METHODS:60 COPD patients were randomly divided into 2 groups,COPD treatment group(n=30) and COPD control group(n=30).COPD treatment group received BCG-PSN polysaccharides nucleic acid(0.35 mg·mL-1 intramuscular injection,3 times a week) and conventional therapy while COPD control group only received conventional therapy. The patients in 2 groups were followed up for 1 month.T lymphocyte subpopulation(CD3+、CD4+、CD8+、CD4+/CD8+),NK and B lymphocyte percentages were determined before and after treatment.RESULTS:After treatment,CD4+,CD4+/CD8+ and B lymphocyte in COPD treatment group were significantly increased(P0.05),while CD8+ were decreased(P0.05).CD4+,CD4+/CD8+ and B lymphocyte in COPD treatment group were higher than COPD control group(P0.05) while CD8+ were decreased(P0.05).CONCLUSION:BCG-PSN can improve immunity in patients with COPD.It is of significance in the prevention and treatment of COPD.
