Abstract

To evaluate interface friction characteristics and tensile force of geosynthetics,the simulation experiments and analysis are conducted.Firstly,the friction angle and adhesion were obtained between non-woven staple geotextile and soil,HDPE geomembrane,TPO(PE) geomembrane by direct shear experiments.Secondly,the tensile forces at the fixed ends are measured by the centrifugal modeled tests due to compaction work of soil.Test results show that the friction angle is large,and adhesion is small between materials;The tensile forces at the fixed ends become larger with the increase of the height of soil.Based on the interface characteristics,the distribution of friction stress on the interface and the tensile forces of non-woven staple geotextile and HDPE geomembrane or TPO(PE) geomembrane are analyzed by FEM.the calculation results of tensile forces are compared with the centrifugal model experiment results;the calculation values are as similar as experimental values;and the friction stress on the interface under bulldozer is large.
