Abstract

Objective:To compare the differences of auditory steady-state response(ASSR) and auditory brainstem response(ABR),explore the reliability of ASSR as a method for subsequent diagnosis after neonatal hearing screening. Methods:A total of 246 infants(492 ears) received ASSR test and ABR test;the extraction rates and the response thresholds of ABR and ASSR were compared. Results:Among 492 ears,387 ears showed ABR response and 481 ears showed ASSR response,the response thresholds of ABR in 263 ears were within normal range.Among 263 ears within normal range of ABR,except 0.5 kHz,there was no statistically significant difference in the response thresholds of the other frequencies between ABR test and ASSR test. Conclusion:ASSR has the advantages of frequency characteristics and high intensity,there was no statistically significant difference in the high frequency response thresholds between ASSR and ABR.
