Abstract

The supporting design, construction and monitoring schemes of a deep foundation pit in Wuhan are introduced here in detail, and the main monitoring results are analyzed in order to get some instructive conclusions that could ensure the security of the pit.The monitoring results indicate that the preloading behind concrete diaphragm wall would have great impacts on the deformation of the concrete diaphragm wall.So during the construction of the pit,the excavated earth should be transported out in time in order to ensure the security of the pit and the adjacent buildings. Moreover, due to the long period of foundation pit's construction, the seasonal variations of temperature would have great impacts on the result of monitoring.
