Abstract

Rites and benevelence are important categories of the Confucius.The doctrine of Confucius was suited to the trend of thought in the times,and had a important role in chunqiu periods.He disagreed to Legalists and advocated to reduce punishment or have no punishment,his doctrine still has important guiding meaning to build a harmonious society.
