Abstract
Study on toxicity of 5 heavy metal ions (Cu 2+ ,Hg 2+ ,Cr 6+ ,Pb 2+ ,Cd 2+ ) to embryos and larvae of Rana nigromaculata showed that the toxicity of these heavy metal ions was higher to embryos during hatching and mouth open stages while it was lower to other embryo stages. The toxicity sequence to embryos is Hg 2+ Cu 2+ Cd 2+ Pb 2+ Cr 6+ . In addition, the cause of toxic effect to embryos is analyzed in the paper. The toxicity sequence of above 5 heavy metal ions to larvae was Hg 2+ Cu 2+ Cd 2+ Pb 2+ Cr 6+ .
