Abstract
OBJECTIVE To study protection of shenmai injection for gastrointestinal tumor patients after operation with oxaliplatin chemotherapy.METHODS 80 cases of gastrointestinal tumor patients after operation with oxaliplatin chemotherapy were divided into single group and combined group, each 40 cases. The single group was administered by chemotherapy only while the combined group by chemotherapy and shenmai injection. After 6 cycles chemotherapy,TCM symptoms integral, chemotherapy needed time, blood viscosity, peripheral sensory nerve toxicity, peripheral nerve conduction velocity were compared between two groups.RESULTS Compared with the single group, the TCM symptoms integral and of the combined group was less and statistically significant(P0.05).Compared with the single group, the chemotherapy needed time and blood viscosity of the combined group were less and statistically significant(P0.05).Compared with the single group, the cases of 3 and 4 grades of peripheral sensory nerve toxicity were less and statistically significant(P0.05).Compared with the combined group, the peripheral nerve conduction velocity of the single group was slower and very statistically significant(P0.01).Conclusion Shenmai injection can improve chemotherapy related symptoms and adjust blood viscosity,it can also reduce oxaliplatin relevant neurotoxicity and ensure chemotherapy smoothly.
