Essential oil content and volatile components of different aged Cinnamomum pauciflorum Nees. leaves

Oil content and its volatile components of three different aged fresh leaves of Cinnamomum pauciflorum,which collected from Weixin county in Yunnan,were analyzed in this study.Results indicated that the average oil contents in current year,one year and more than two years Cinnamomum pauciflorum leaves were 0.44%,2.34% and 1.73%,respectively.More than 26 volatile components were detected and identified from the extracted oil.Main components that detected from the extracted volatile oil were safrole,linalool,1,8-oleumeucalypti,camphor,β-caryophyllene,bicyclomyrcene and methoxy eugenol.The relative contents of safrole in current year,one-year and more than two-year Cinnamomum pauciflorum leaf oil were 95.20%,96.05%,96.80%,respectively.One year leaves contain highest content of leaf oil and higher relative content of safrole within the leaf oil.
