Quantitative Analysis on the Relationship between Development of Higher Education and Economic Growth in Xinjiang

Co-integration analysis and Granger causality test are made to the relation of development of higher education and economic growth based on the data from 1980～2007 in Xinjiang,an error correction model is then established.The research comes to the conclusion that a long-term dynamic equalization exist between the higher education development and economic growth.The long-term promotion brought by development of higher education to economic growth is greater than the short-term promotion and there is certain causality between the development rapidity and economic growth rate,which is not stable.
